Dr Tracy Bourne has a growing private studio for people of all ages interested in commercial singing styles and music theatre voice training. Tracy has a thorough understanding of contemporary and music theatre vocal techniques and enjoys teaching healthy vocal technique to beginners, as well as more advanced students. Students are encouraged to develop greater mastery of the relevant musical styles and can also explore acting, and text work if interested. As well as a PhD in music theatre voice, Tracy has completed a Masters of Music and a Bachelor of Music from Queensland Conservatorium. She studied acting at VCA Drama School in the 1990s, and has performed professionally as a singer and actor. Tracy was Lecturer in Singing at the Arts Academy, University of Ballarat from 2000-2011. Past students have gone on to work in professional shows including Hairspray, West Side Story, Wicked, The Ten Tenors, Jersey Boys, Strictly Ballroom, and My Fair Lady. Many have gone on to develop careers as cabaret artists and writers, as singers on cruise ships, or as actor/singers for Universal studios (Japan and Singapore).
