Clarinet lessons in Townsville.
60 minutes – $90; 30 minutes – $55
As Townsville’s and Northern Australia’s foremost clarinet performer and educator, I have a wide range of experience in making music and teaching within Australia and overseas.
I have worked with students from seven to seventy and while maintaining a private studio, I am also employed with the Queensland Department of Education as a woodwind and classroom music teacher.
I pride myself on an open and all-encompassing approach to music education, drawing on performance, practice techniques, ear training, and theory. I develop individual learning plans and goals for each student, based on their aspirations for music.
It is important that playing the clarinet is fun and comfortable, and champion the playing of the clarinet in an ergonomic and relaxing way.
I hold a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours from the Queensland and Melbourne Conservatoriums, and a Master of Music from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen in clarinet performance and pedagogy. Additionally, I have a Master of Secondary Teaching.
As a performer I have been contracted with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, NSW Police Band, Queensland Symphony, and the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Copenhagen Philharmonic, among other prestigious chamber music performances.
I perform regularly with the Great Barrier Reef Orchestra and have recently started the youth orchestra programme in Townsville.
