Nigel Collasco is an experienced drummer, performer and music educator with *more than 20 years of experience in live performance, touring, recording and music education*.
Originally from India and now based in Adelaide, Australia, Nigel has built a career performing across India and internationally, appearing at some of the country’s most recognised music venues and events. His performance credits include *Hard Rock Cafe, MTV, Channel V, VH1, Independence Rock, Great Indian Rock and Jazz by the Bay*, among others.
Nigel has also been involved in *national road shows, tours and major brand events, including the **Harley-Davidson Rock Riders road show and product launches in India. His work and performances have been featured in **Rolling Stone, People’s Magazine, Mumbai Mirror, Mid-Day, Hindustan Times, The Tribune and other major publications*.
As a founding member of the rock band *SPLIT, Nigel performed extensively on India’s live music circuit, including appearances at **I-Rock, Mood Indigo and Hard Rock Cafe*.
In 2013, Nigel turned his passion for music into a full-time career and founded *Nigel’s Academy of Music, with the goal of helping aspiring musicians develop their skills and confidence. What began with just two students grew into an academy teaching **more than 1,000 students per year*, combining structured education with practical performance experience.
Nigel has also contributed to the development of young drummers through *Drum-Off Global*, serving as the India organiser for the international competition and helping provide emerging musicians with opportunities to perform and compete at an international level.
Today, based in Adelaide, Nigel continues to perform and teach *drums and music to children, teenagers and adults*. His teaching philosophy is centred around making music enjoyable while developing solid technique, timing, coordination, musicality and—most importantly—the confidence to play with other musicians. He teaches with Prestigous School and colleges in Adelaide like St Peters woodlands , St Francis Lockleys and Endeavour College .
