Teacher Profile
I am an enthusiastic, encouraging teacher who loves teaching the piano; especially classical, pop and jazz styles.
I have extensive experience teaching beginners (both children and adults), adults returning to the piano after a break, as well as more advanced classical students.
My priorities as a teacher are to first ensure that students develop the fundamentals (including good rhythm and tone, effective finger technique, sight-reading, and a working understanding of music theory) whilst still enjoying their home practice and lessons!
My piano teaching is deeply indebted to my own piano teachers: Dr Graham Williams, Stephan Ammer and Monika Laczofy. It is also informed by my experience as a student and teacher of yoga and meditation.
