Marco Lombardi is a pianist, organist, composer and piano teacher with a studio in Thornbury, welcoming students from Northcote, Preston and across Melbourne’s inner north. His lessons are friendly, structured and shaped around each student’s goals, whether that’s playing favourite songs, building solid classical technique, or preparing for an exam, audition or performance.
Marco began classical piano in early childhood and has been performing and composing ever since. He holds a Master of Music Performance from The University of Western Australia (2014), a Graduate Diploma in Music from the University of Melbourne, and an A.Mus.A. (2009). His studies took him to England and Italy, where he worked with leading pianists including Edoardo Strabbioli, Carlo Grante and Leslie Howard. He is also head organist at Newman Parish Melbourne and an experienced accompanist.
Marco has been teaching since 2012, with experience in schools as well as private studios. He teaches students young and old, from complete beginners to advanced players, and is equally at home with classical repertoire, rock, pop, blues, gospel and improvisation. His aim is to give every student a complete, rounded musical education that is as enjoyable as it is rigorous.
